Shipping to Canada

  • We can deliver anywhere in Canada via "Portal" crossings between the USA & Canada at the customer's convenience.
  • Call for our current delivery rate per loaded mile one way in the USA or Canada. (Rates differ)
  • We use Google Maps to determine the distance from the dealership to the point where the customer takes delivery. Our address is 5080 W. Alexis Rd, Sylvania, OH 43560.
  • Delivery drivers are fully insured and bonded.
  • Trade-in's can be picked up at the time of delivery and returned to the dealership at our current delivery rate per loaded mile. (Call for current delivery rate.)
  • If the customer takes delivery of the RV on the USA side of the border, the customer will save the cost of the border crossing agent and will take the RV across the border and pay the GST tax and we provide all of the necessary paperwork needed to cross the border through customs.

Further Information for crossing US/Canada Border

  • If the unit is delivered to the customer's home in Canada, the customer will have to arrange for a border crossing agent to take the RV across the border and pay the necessary GST tax. Before calling Border Agency, call Canadian Customs @ (403) 344-3772, record the agent's name for future reference, and they will tell you what is needed to bring the trailer across the border.
  • The truck driver stops at The Border Crossing Agency, on the US side of the border. The Border Crossing Agency provides the truck driver with a packet, containing all the documents needed for the Truck Driver to take the RV across the border and pays the GST. The Customer pays the Border Crossing Agency for "Services Rendered" including the GST.

What to do at the border:

  1. Produce your title documents, registration and sales receipts.
  2. Complete Vehicle Import Form - Form 1, which Canada Border Services Agency will provide. This requires a Canadian mailing address. This form must be kept in the vehicle until it is licensed.
  3. Canada Border Services Agency will check your vehicle against Transport Canada's List of Vehicles Admissible from the United States. They will also verify the public VIN and manufacturer's statement of compliance label on the vehicle to make sure they match.
  4. Canada Border Services Agency will collect your non refundable Registrar of Imported Vehicles' fee of $195.00 + GST in all provinces except Quebec where it is $195.00 + GST and QST.
  5. Payment for the RIV fee may be made directly to Canada Border Services Agency with any major credit card. Canada Border Services Agency does not accept cash or schedules for the RIV fee. If you wish to pay by cheque or money order, Canada Border Services Agency will provide you with a payment envelope which must be mailed to the Registrar of Imported Vehicles. Please note that all personal cheques will be held for ten business days in order to allow them to clear the bank. This will use up a portion of your 45 day time limit.
  6. Remember that payment of fees and receipt of the Vehicle Import Form - Form 1 does not warrant that your vehicle is capable of being brought into conformity with all applicable federal and provincial or territorial laws.
  7. The Registrar of Imported Vehicles will not issue a federal inspection form or any specific modification information for a vehicle with an unpaid file. It is important that you do not proceed with any modifications on your vehicle until you receive this federal inspection form. If the file remains unpaid for 14 days after importation, we will send the importer a reminder of notice; if payment still has not been received within the proscribed 45 days after the date of importation, the file will be forwarded to Transport Canada for enforcement. The compliance status of every vehicle entering Canada through the RIV system is shared with all provincial and territorial licensing jurisdictions. Non compliance with the Motor Vehicle Safety Act may result in a refusal to license, or a revocation of an existing registration.

What to do after the vehicle enters Canada:

  1. After payment and the recall clearance documentation have been received by the Registrar of Imported Vehicles an Inspection Form will be mailed which details what must be done to bring your vehicle into compliance.
  2. It is your responsibility to complete the necessary modifications within 45 days. You may have the modifications done by the mechanic or garage of your choice. However, we recommend that you contact the Original Equipment Manufacturer to discuss appropriate parts or warranty issues. Make sure you keep receipts for parts and labor, to present at the inspection, along with Form 1, Form 2 and the recall clearance letter.
  3. The RIV has contracted with Canadian Tire, with 470 locations across Canada, to perform our federal inspections. In many cases, Canadian Tire can perform certain modification work, as well as performing the provincial inspection.
  4. When you pass the inspection, the inspection centre will stamp your Form 1, that you will have to present to the provincial or territorial licensing authority, which may require additional testing.
  5. Within approximately one week of passing the federal inspection, we will send you a new Canadian Certification label with instructions on where to affix it to your vehicle.
  6. If the vehicle fails the inspection, you'll have to pay additional charges for another inspection. If the vehicle cannot pass the inspection within the 45 days, it will have to be exported back to the United States.

  • Obtain a international freight quote from any shipping broker. Their fees are in addtional to any costs associated with getting your new RV to a port city.
  • After the "Quote" is accepted, these agents will schedule space on a ship, reserve any containers, "Flat Racks" needed for the shipment and schedule where and when the RV needs to be delivered to the port to meet the preparation schedule and the loading schedule to meet the "Departure" date of the ship.

  • International shipping agents provide the dock receipt needed to delivery the trailer to the steamship line.
  • The international shipping agents will also negotiate insurance rates if needed. It is preferable for the customer to retain insurance for the voyage.
